PRICH Biotech, una empresa líder en el cultivo, manufactura y dispensación de cannabis en la Isla desde mediados de 2016, recientemente presentó su propia línea de gummies bajo la marca Island Extracts.
Según Carlos Oliver, gerente de manufactura, la marca Island Extracts se distingue por ofrecer a los pacientes un producto de calidad conectando la experiencia tropical de Puerto Rico. En este caso, los nuevos gummies Island Extracts fueron diseñados para disfrutarse, lo que en inglés se conoce como “crafted to enjoy”.
Los gummies están disponibles en 4 deliciosos sabores: mangó, passion fruit, lemon, lime & strawberry. Además, el producto está disponible tanto en 10 mg como en 30 mg. Los expertos recomiendan que los pacientes comiencen a consumir comestibles en microdosis entre 5 mg a 10 mg para conocer cómo el cuerpo asimila y/o se adapta a las necesidades del tratamiento.
“Este ofrecimiento es comúnmente conocido como microdosis y ayuda al paciente a mantener el tratamiento constante en diversos puntos del día. A los gummies no se les añade colorante artificial y están creados con concentrado de fruta natural”, explicó Oliver a Crónicas.
Para el gerente de mercadeo de PRICH, Juan Alvarado, los comestibles pueden ayudar a los pacientes con falta de apetito, dolores crónicos, ansiedad e insomnio.
“Los pacientes reconocen la consistencia, calidad y precio justo de los productos PRICH Biotech, por eso es que la demanda de los mismos es alta. Sin embargo, siempre hay espacio para innovar y mejorar pues también los pacientes han evolucionado y desean métodos de tratamientos nuevos, ágiles y que se adapten a su estilo de vida”, añadió Alvarado.
Actualmente, la empresa continúa bajo proceso de expansión y adaptación de nuevas maquinarias en sus instalaciones. Según Julio López, chief operations officer, las inversiones estarán enfocadas en máquinas automáticas de llenados y empaque y la instalación de alto nivel con topes de cuarzo y bandejas de cobre. Igualmente, se se añadieron más de 75,000 pies cuadrados de cultivo y manufactura con la adquisición de los activos en las nuevas instalaciones en Caguas.
“A esto se le suman alrededor de 150,000 pies cuadrados que ya existen en las instalaciones de Humacao, colocándose como la empresa de cannabis más grande de la isla”, dijo López.
Se espera que para el cuarto trimestre de 2021, PRICH añada una nueva línea de productos y cepas de Spectra e Island Extracts con el fin de proveer mayor bienestar a los pacientes de cannabis.
Los productos PRICH Biotech se distribuyen a todos los dispensarios autorizados alrededor de la Isla.
“PRICH Biotech es novel en el área de comestibles. Estos primeros pasos han permitido sentar las bases del Departamento de Manufactura y evolucionar la flexibilidad en que podamos tener productos artesanales siguiendo procesos industriales y sobre todo de grado manufacturero para, precisamente, innovar con productos que las personas necesiten o busquen”, concluyó Alvarado.

This first step is accompanied by several processes that have been established from scratch and which are constantly evaluated for the patient’s benefit.
